Protecting our natural heritage and environment

We live in a beautiful environment and this theme is all about sustaining our natural heritage and resources so they can be enjoyed now and in generations to come.

Take a look around the town and you will see historic buildings, ancient woodlands, abundant wildlife and, of course our river. There’s a lot to be proud of!


So, what’s the plan?

We have an excellent Conservation Area Management Plan that identifies places of interest and significance in the town. The adoption of this plan is a major step forward in protecting our heritage.

Chippenham also has an active environmental group that we’ll be supporting in efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, minimise unnecessary waste and promote Fair Trade status.
